Introduction of Period Cups

March Spring Break Vision Trip: Witnessing God’s Power

The visioning trip was from March 12th to 21st. We left DFW on the afternoon of the 12th, changed flights in Chicago ORD, and flew to Frankfurt. We had to sprint to the gate to make it to our last flight from Frankfurt to Nairobi, Kenya. We arrived just before midnight on March 13th.

Before and during this trip, Luke 10:17 stood out for us:

“The seventy-two returned with joy and said, ‘Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.’”

Indeed, as we ministered in the villages, we saw God move powerfully! What the enemy had meant for evil the Lord turned it for his purposes and our good!

March 13: Arrival & Trusting in God’s Provision

After landing in Kenya, we cleared customs but realized one of our bags was missing. Till today, we have not located the bag. Though we were tempted to be discouraged, the Holy Spirit reminded us:

“You have everything you need to do the work I have sent you to do. You have the Holy Spirit within you. Choose to obey, and I will do exploits through you!”

And so, we pressed on.

March 14-15: Casting the Vision

We spent time with the women leaders of She Stands Kenya, sharing the vision for how we impact communities. We introduced period cups, praying they would catch the vision for foors to open for Gospel conversations and discipleship and disciple-making.

With 13 guests in our home, we ran out of space—but our gracious neighbor hosted four of them.

What a beautiful reminder that when we step out in faith, God provides.

March 16: A Challenge to Disciple

At church, we were challenged to embrace our call to disciple-making—especially in spiritually parenting those entrusted to us. We couldn’t help but think of the spiritual orphans in the villages we were heading to.

That evening, we met with the She Stands ambassadors for our first vision meeting. Three immediately embraced the vision, but the fourth—Christine—struggled. I had envisioned her as a key part of the movement, yet she remained hesitant.

That night, we wrestled with the Lord. Had we misheard Him? We had thanked Him in advance for Christine, yet she wasn’t on board. In prayer, He led one of us to Matthew 18:19:

“If two of you agree on earth concerning anything they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”

We had agreed in prayer—so we chose to trust. It was a beautiful moment to remember Delay is not denial and A setback is a setup for a comeback!

March 17: An Answered Prayer

The next morning, as soon as Christine entered the car, we sensed a change. She told us that God had spoken to her the night before. Not only was she now committed—she was excitedly sharing the vision with other village women!

Later, we ran into a group of 40–50 high school girls we had planned to meet but had postponed. Unaware of the change, they still walked to find us. Seeing them, we decided to minister on the spot. The Gospel was clear, and when we called for a response, close to 10 girls gave their lives to Jesus! The seed was planted, the Lord of the harvest will cause it to grow —praise God!

March 18: A Spiritual Battle Won

In the next village, we prayed to connect with a village midwife, knowing she could be key in reaching women. During our meeting, a woman moved from seat to seat, whispering to others. We later discovered she was a midwife discouraging women from accepting our message. But something amazing happened. The night before, God had woken one of us at 3:45 AM to intercede in words she didn’t understand. We had no idea that a battle was being fought in the spiritual realm!

When we finally spoke to the midwife, she was visibly confused, contradicting herself. But by the end of our conversation, she had given up on the fight —praise the Lord!

March 19: An Answer to Prayer

In our final debrief, a local pastor told us how we were an answer to his prayers. He had been pleading with God for something to strengthen the young women in his village. Not just in the provision of health education and feminine products —but in faith.

We encouraged him to advocate for the vision, especially among men, knowing that fathers’ approval would be crucial for the message to spread.

Gratitude & Impact

We could not have done this without you. When we needed funding, you stepped in at exactly the right time.

Because of your partnership:

  • 92 people heard the Gospel in person

  • 6 new volunteers signed up

  • Close to 10 girls committed their lives to Christ

  • 2 village churches joined the mission

You stood with us. You touched the least of these. You made God smile!

Praise God for His faithfulness!
